Permanent, not temporary ceasefire must be achieved in Gaza — Erdogan

Turkish President called for the convening of an international peace conference to resolve the situation in the Middle East

DUBAI, November 11. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that a permanent, not a temporary ceasefire in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone is a priority.

"Our first priority is to ensure a ceasefire and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid. The most urgent thing is not a pause in hostilities for a few hours, but a permanent ceasefire. There have been initiatives for a four-hour ceasefire. We consider such proposals shameful," Erdogan said at an extraordinary joint summit of the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh.

He also called for the convening of an international peace conference to resolve the situation in the Middle East.
